Terraced on 3rd
Bringing this 1900s rowhome on the brick-lined streets of historic downtown Frederick to life was a dream come true. This home, once in complete disrepair, now stands as a testament to meticulous restoration and thoughtful design.
The project involved relocating the kitchen to the center of the first floor, adding a second full bath, and transforming an unfinished attic into a charming second bedroom. As with every project, we endeavored to preserve every original element possible. However, given the property's initial condition, some parts required extensive work to restore their former glory.
Among the preserved elements are the stunning hardwood flooring, the original front door, and the timeless windows, all contributing to the home's enduring character. The third-floor bedroom with its original exposed wood and the uniquely slanted roof of the laundry room are standout features that add to the home's charm.
This project marries the historic charm of the early 20th century with modern functionality, ensuring the home remains a cherished piece of Frederick's architectural heritage.
